I've never really understood that phenomena personally. My best guess is that some of the more obscure memory timings that are usually set to auto, or just aren't there in the bios, are set differently by the board at lower HTT speeds.
The settings that I have seen seen make the most difference for high HTT speeds are MAL and TRFC, but you already know that.
It could just be that these boards prefer Brisbanes, 2 out of the 3 people in this thread with 7050s doing 316+ HTT have been using Brisbanes, and the third didn't specify which CPU he was using.
@ Funnyperson: I'll try a Brisbane next, but the NB voltage adjust is hardly anything at all. May need more voltage. If the Brisbane is same, I'll do the Vmod today.... It's gotta be something. I've tried 5 different memory brands and 2 Orleans CPU's... Back in about 15

Check this out! And check out the test setup That's a crap, 20 Pin ATX PSU I was gonna toss and a 6.4Gig HDD I got out of a roadside trashcan computer!

The smallest HDD I use is a 485 MegByte oldie that is formatted as a FAT32 W98 boot disk. I flash BIOS from it on NTFS machines when it's hooked up as a slave...

Hmmm... it's a fair amount of work to get the board into a watercooled testbed right now. I doubt if the OC would improve as the Brisbane came out of my watercooled, cased up, DFI Infinity UltraII-M2 where 2.9Gig was the top.
In that DFI is the x2 6400. I wonder what the 7050 would do with that, although I did post results in the Processor sector about a runoff against a Intel 6850 C2D. I doubt if it would improve.... Maybe if I get bored this weekend
I forgot to mention that this 7050-M2 is a kick-ass little board. I used it as a hot flash testbed for flashing a corrupted MSI Neo2 Platinum BIOS chip with a fresh BIOS. The MSI loved it!

I do not recommend "pencil shading" for Vmods. It is uncontrollable, unpredictable, and unreliable.
If you do this or any of our mods, your doing them at your own risk. The Rebels Haven Computer Forum will not be responsible for damaged systems or components... If your unsure about the mods, I strongly suggest you do not implement them...
The resistor I have circled is the one that will increase Vdimm if it is reduced by any means including "pencil shading" It is a low value(150 ohms), so it may take a lot of pencil to make Vdimm increase. You must measure Vdimm when a Pencil Vdimm mod is performed.
