Yep. I can't get any multis to work, not even the 9x that works for vwcameron. I've tried several variations of memclk divider/npt fid control/voltage, and to no avail. But I'm not complaining, all in all this was a great overclock, and thanks in large part to all the helpful souls on this board. THANKS everyone!!

I know that the 4X multi worked fine for me (and allowed me to clockgen to 350+HTT), I believe the 6X did too.
9X won't post, 8X will post but won't boot windows (did boot into memtest just fine, and memtest detected correct speed). A couple of multis just ran as 9.5x.
In any case I didn't mess around with it too much because even the 9.5x multi is a little on the low side for an easy oc.

Dreamliner: >>For everyone that has gotten a successful overclock of more than, say, 2400mhz. I'm currently running a Thermaltake 430 watt model. What worries me is that is only has a 1 12v rail capable of 18 amps. I'm running 1 DVDRW, 3 seagate sata drives, firewire pci card and 2 additional case fans.<<
Is this the Thermaltake W0070RUC? Sounds like it.. Well, thats what I have, and, Im running the Biostar tforce 550/3600+ brisbane at 2.81 ghz without incident. Been extremely stable, and, able to keep my 4-4-4-12 timings too, with no bump in vcore needed. Full load temps stay 50 and below
Dr_Bowtie: >>at 265x10.5 @ 1.325v temps were usually around 29c but I seen very quick spikes up to 36c<<
Seriously? Hmm... what are you using for your CPU temp reading.. Please, tell me youre not using any 'Core' values on the Biostar mobo... I hope youre verifying youre temps with the Biostar mobo utilities. Your Orthos temps in the 20s and 30s you reported sound impossibly low, unless youre using some Core value reported by a non biostar utility, which we know arent valid. My 'Core' readings are about 15 degrees below my correct CPU temperatures and sound very similar to what you reported, only I never count them because of calibration problems with core readings on our systems. Also, youre using a 10.5 multiplier? Most of us have found weve had to stay with the 9.5 mult, and only goosed the bus speed to remain stable. Have you had no problems with deviating from this mult?
Citizen: >>Mine does ok at the 9x multi, but hit's a wall right around 2.7 Ghz... so I think I'll be content at 9.5x290
3Ghz would be nice, but I have a feeling I probably wouldn't see too much of a difference real-world.<<
Yea.. no dif.. Only bragging rights.. I feel the way you do. IM very happy with my 9.5 x 295.7 . Do I care that Im at 2810 mhz instead of 3000? Not in the least. ID never detect the dif anyway, so who cares. What I DO care about is weve bumped this cpu from 1.9 to 2.8, its as stable as stock, and thats one hellofan overclock in anybody's book, especially at the prices most of us paid.

>>boost, hes using the 10.5 multiplier as that is the default multiplier for his CPU (the 4000+).
We couldn't run 10.5 multiplier even if we wanted to as the multipliers are locked from going up. So for a 3600+ 9.5 and below are your only options.<<
Whoops, Funny, sorry bout that.. I had managed to assume that not only were we all running the Biostar Tforce 550, but also the 3600+ Brisbane! Im still very skeptical about his 29 to 36 degree Orthos fully loaded cpu temps though. Those sound so much like the Core temps as measured by Speedfan, PC Wizard, name_your_utility that Ive gotten and subsequently ignored as a result of my conversations with you re the calibration errors etc. From Idle all the way up to Full Load, my core temp measurement is about 15 degrees beneath the correct CPU measurement. So, Orthos fully loaded CPU temp at 50 degrees shows a Core temp measurement of 35 degrees. And at idle, right now for instance, Im seeing a CPU temperature of 33 degrees, and a Core temperature of 18 degrees. Id be curious if most people who have a good utility that shows them Core, CPU, and System or Case temps are finding that Core temp = CPU Temp - 15 degrees...

I don't think those temps are out of line for good aircooling. At 2.8 with stock vcore, thats right in line with what I get from Speedfan/Biostar etc. Actually right now I'm running at 37C full load at 2.95ghz and 1.425V, although my ambient is abnormally low at 19C (usually its like 24-26) I don't hit 50C except at 3GHZ.
