Nice BIOS, has Virtualization option for whenever someone decides to code a pogram that takes advantage of it. My temps, while aren't outrageous, I still don't believe they're fully calibrated.

This temp issue exists on both AM2 and Conroe boards and is so bad, I don't even look at it anymore! The $300 DFI 680i has my Conroe at over 70C!! BS, ya know? And that is in the BIOS!!

has anyone had any issues with lower overclocks or anything quirky like that?
mine sits at a confortable 333x9 24/7 and keeps chugging along.
aside from the temps i cant say that i have any issues. I usually follow the "if it aint broke dont fix it" methodology so i dont wanna update if the temps aint fixed on brisbanes, and if the overclocking is lowered.
can anyone chime in for me please.
also do you gent's plan on cracking this bios open and modding it like you did the others ? i know i would appreciate it if you did

Welcome to RHCF! I'm pretty sure Polygon, our bios modding guru, sold his nf-m2 board, so he would have no way to test the modded bios. Can you recover from flashing a corrupt bios if necessary?

well given that he has had many successful mods with the other bios versions i cant imagine poly would screw this up lol. but i know testing is key before public release.
and i have a couple of 8meg bios chips out of some asus boards. (P5WD2-E Prem) i think they are 8meg, maybe they are 4meg.
im not so much concerned with the modded bios as i am with this new bios not wrecking anything, know what i mean? but if modding it is the only way to open it up to have GOOD overclocking options, or rather proper overclocking options, then i will stay with the bios i have. which is poly's modded #13 bios. (which rev exactly i cant say but its a beast and i love it.)
i also simply use speedfan and set an offset of -30 show it shows a more realistic temp.
but honestly its just a guess buy probing the heatsink and bass of the heatsink with my IR thermal gun.
he could make a brisbane edition with a stock offset built into the bios lol.
right now i jsut booted up and im sitting in the bios (my main rig is my 6600 ES) and its hsowing 70c we all know thats wrong but how much? 30-35-40c???
system temps show 33, pwm shows 40, so i know just having turned on my system temps are not over 40c. probably 33-35c. but i dont have any way of truly knowing. just guess.

I'm flattered that you think I can perform such miracles! But truth be told, there is very little being done other then unhiding some things that are already there. Real, actual changes are out of the question. I can add code to "steer" things like mem timings, and VGA speed, but that's about it. Increasing voltages is totally out of the question. The software to fix temps, timings, and things of the nature, are not available to the general public. I tried to buy up-to-date software from AWARD, but they don't even respond to my inquire!
The BIOS chip in the NF-M2 is a 4meg and a hot flash will give you a backup.... True most of the BIOS mods go off without a hitch, but there is always risk. I bought spares right from ABIT, online. http://badflash.com is also another source of backup's...
That's it in a nutshell. Welcome aboard!

lol (the flatery was intended as to get you to unhide those hidden item in the #14 bios lol)
but as long as checksums come up ok after you unhide them, i figure it should be ok.
as long as you're comfortable unhiding them i will be youre guinea pig Poly. as long as when you unhide them and save them your comfortable that the bios wont be a failure, or more so the bios flash i should say.
i think you been doing this long enough and have done enough of the NF-M2 bios's to know if it is gunna work ok or not.
but for now i simply am asking if anyone can chime in on the overclocking abilities of the #14 vs #13.
i do know that going from 12 to 13 made a big difference, a good difference, 13 was far better for me than 12 was.

I had a total of 3 of them and they all worked for crap. 1st 2 would not POST 95% of the time. 3ed could only go to 300FSB, 25Mhz at a time and would not re-boot ever at 300. I see many users with the same issues. I think it may have been my memory, but 3 strikes and they're out! Mod BIOS are posted in seperate topic as should all this banter

Many users have nothing but trouble, but a handful are like you. No problem!
I bought 2 boards about 6 months ago and 1 about 2 month ago and the last was a little better, but still not useable... Something in my setup had to be the issue and I strongly suspect the memory. I did try every brand I have, but all were the same results.
I did have GSkill HZ and after testing it on Biostar AM2 boards, I sent it back as it was lousy compared to my other stix, some being cheaper. Never got to try it on the ABIT.
