I have changed the bios on my k7s41gx lots of times to experiment so I don't know if I lost or not that MAC address that I don't know exactly what is my lan appears to be working fine I can connect to internet very well and even I have made a domestic network with my sister computer that appears to be working fine
however, on my local network icon always says that is null or limited. There on options there's a buttons that says: Repair I press that button and after 1 minit or more windows says that can't find the correct ip adress
so my question is this? is that a MAC address problem? if not how this can be solved?
my config:Athlon xp 2400-winxp sp2,geforce4 ti
thanks
bye,Aldo

Hi guys, Unfortunately, that option is no more available, it caused odd problems...
But first, use Everest or Sandra to check if the MAC address is lost (in that case it´s 00-00-00-00). If that´s the case (I doubt it reading your first post), a BIOS flash should solve the problem. Or you can use the eeAMD-SiS.zip utility to get it back.
I solved the same problem deleting the existing connection and creating a new one after rebooting

Sorry, but I doubt that the MAC adress is the problem. Ussualy the network connection (neighborhood) is the last one to suffer from lost MAC adress, while the internet connection is the first one to suffer. The MAC adress is ussualy used by DHCP to alocate an adress to U and to let U browse the internet(that is if the DHCP server is configured like that). For first I would try to remove the "POWER SAVE" option from the device manager. Also give us some more specs about your LAN/WAN setup.

I have checked on Everest home edition the MAC adress and says: 000B6A716A7B same number is on the sticker on the parallet port on my motherborad so I think that the MAC address is not the problem so it's a OS issue
guni,
how you have deleted local network?
I can't delete it here...I press del on that conecction and says that I must disable it first so.. I have disabled it but still it can't be deleted
planoru,
