Well, that was short and sweet! [Roll Eyes]

Running the 6600 and trying all 3 memory brands I have, 400FSB was a no-go....

Of course that was when I could even get it to POST... Like other ABIT's, it likes all the fan headers occupied... But still, POSTing was rare and when it did, it loaded defaults....

I have the Refund RMA, she's all packed for the trip, and on Monday I'll see her off... [kickass]

that's a shame i sort of had high hopes for the aw9 since the aw8 was a decent mb. i have also heard that abit is making troublesome 965's . hopefully they will get their act togeather.

I found a pic of the final straw that broke the Camels back. This is exactly what I saw before sending it back for a refund:

Keep in mind that the screenshot of the flasher corrupting the BIOS was not taken by me. Someone else had the same thing happen to them as happened to me. And there is several stories at XS like this. Luck? Maybe not......

Windows!!!! I couldn't even get the board to POST! Tried 3 different memory types and was hoping a new BIOS would fix the problem. DOS flash was only option. RIP [Frown]

Yeah the ABIT motherboards are picky with ram , just like my current MOBO. I just hope when I get my AW9D-MAX it wont give me any trouble.

CDPU : C2D e6400
ram : Crucial Ballistix ddr2 8000
Powersuply : coolermaster Purepower 550watt 30amp

any suggestions please?

I could have sworn I warned you about that! [HaHa]
Amazing.... What has happened to ABIT?

As far as giving up on Conroe, you picked the wrong board! Pick one that is working super, not one that everyone is sending back...
