I'm using the Biostar GeForce 6100-M9 board. The BIOS version flashed is from CU51M119.BF (ftp://ftp.biostar-usa.com/bios/GeForce%206100-M9/ ). I want to open this BIOS file (renamed it to .bin) and I tried modbin6 versions 1.00.03, .12, .37, .38 and 2.00.00 Beta. Some versions say 'not 6.00 version', some versions crash (stack overflow and others). But I can't open this BIOS file... Where is my fault?

Welcome to The Rebels Haven! It's possible the download got corrupted as it's a unzipped BIOS file! In the BIOS workshop is a sticky linking the latest Modbin6 versions... You are doing this in the Command Prompt window I assume... -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Damn Phenoms!

Modbin 2.01.02 can now open the file, good. I hoped to see an option for enabling DRAM ECC mode (I'm using ECC modules), but there is no such option.

Get a copy of WPCREDIT and change the bit I have circled to "1" See if it makes any difference: -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Damn Phenoms!

I made mod BIOS for you. Based on CU51m119.bs Under Integrated Peripherals: Enable "ECC Enable" for ECC Memory. If system hangs, clear CMOS. That will disable ECC mode.CU51M119RH1.zip While I have tested this BIOS, remember you are flashing entirely at your own risk. -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Hey thanks! I will try it in the next days. Can you say me please how do you did this? This option wasn't hidden in the BIOS.

I wrote a PCI Option ROM in Assembly Language and inserted it place of the "Onboard LAN Boot Agent" module in the BIOS. The PCI Option ROM enables the bit 17 in register 90h when the "Onboard LAN Boot Agent" is enabled. But I changed the title with Modbin6 to "Enable ECC Mode"... I ran the BIOS on my 6100-939 system all night without issue... Check the BIOS Workshop topic: Building Your Own AWARD Substitute PCI Option ROM -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Some minutes ago I flashed your BIOS. But enabling your BIOS option is useless, ECC won't run. Memtest86+ and Everest show ECC disabled. What problem might that be?

No idea. A64 Tweaker showed it enabled on my 6100-939, but I didn't have ECC memory... -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Damn Phenoms!

It is "Enabled" on my system. Did you Enable the special setting I added in the "Integrated Peripherals" BIOS window? If it doesn't work for you, I have no idea why. I set bit 17 to a 01h in register 90h, and that is all I can do. Sorry it doesn't work for you.... -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Damn Phenoms!

I don't know that these boards support ecc memory. Also it may be windows resetting the ecc back to disable. -------------------- Biostar TA770-A2+ Motherboard A78XA814.XXX AMB BIOS Phenom 9500 11X230 1.45V 2x1Gig Super Talent PC6400 5-5-5-15 EVGA 7800GS WD SATA 120GB Antech 550W

Good point about Windows resetting the Enable bit. I'm running W2K. Maybe XP or VISTA has that nice feature of resetting it back! -------------------- Too Many Computers ,... Too Little Time ..... Damn Phenoms!
