Trying to load W2K and when it gets to the 1st re-boot, I'm getting that deep blue screen with the tiny bright white lettering telling you your f***ed....

This board corrupted the installation trying to do the installation!

Now, this is the 3ed nF4 board I'm testing. The other 2 are running smooth as silk and this .....

Well, I tried with the GEIL because I think it hates TCCD.....

Hmmmm maybe I should have flashed the BIOS like recommended....

I'll try the flash and try a re-load....

OK, turns out the board does not like the GEIL Ultra Platinum PC4400 (Hynix chips)...

Loading with the Kingston, TCCD chip memory...

I know it's really, really early to make any judgements, but the CPU and memory that runs 300+ in almost everyother nF3 and nF4 board is having trouble at 260 on this board...

Switching memory again........

On the DFI's the ultra and Sli boards are identical except for the chipset. They even use the same bios. Those terminals between the x16 slots are for a bridge which enables sli. And there is no difference between the ultra and sli versions of the nf4, except for one trace. With it sli works , without it no go. Once the word got out on how to mod the ultra into an sli chip, Nvidia started zapping the ultra with a laser to prevent the mod from working. Also, the only source for the bridge is Nvidia, and you have to prove that you bought a sli board.

Reading as much as I could stand over at extremesystems, most users are topping out in the 260HTT/FSB range.....

Ya' know, it sure seems that the more fanfare, the more "eye-candy", the more features, the more bull5hit presented,..... the worse the motherboard performance is......

I'm POSTing and booting at 9X300 on the:

Epox-9NDA3+
MSI Neo4
Ga-K8NF-9
MSI Neo2

with little or no problems....

and this much anticipated board can't go past 260??? Hell, the '250Gb runs better then that!

Well, it still early, but by know, I had the EP-9NDA3+ at 325HTT/FSB..... [dono]

It dawned on me that the CPU clock is holding me back, so I dropped the multi to 8X and went looking for the max HTT/FSB frequency...

I'd have to check back, but this may be a record for this CPU and A-Data DDR600 at 200 1T 2.5-3-6-3.....

Well, checking the super overclocker, the EPOX-9NDA3+, after the voltage mods I could get these components to 320 HTT/FSB @ 200 1T 2.5-3-6-3...

But 310 is nothing to sneeze at and besides this is with a 3200 Winnie that has a old date code of 0433...

I have a new Winnie at the office I will try, and my next move with this board is to install the FX-55 and see where we can end up...

One more thing to note, with the aformentioned settings, at 8X, I'm POSTing and booting into Windows at 300HTT/FSB.....

This board is a keeper.... [ThumbsUp]
